I have heard that there is a small delay showing the VU in traktor… I can vouch for VDJ’s speed and accuracy. It’s nice to have VU meters on your controller as it means you don’t need to look at the screen as much, but the same information can be seen on the screen if your controller is lacking VU’s.

I really haven’t noticed delays on the main VU on my controller, but even if it is, what we are looking for is the peakvolume, so a few ms doesn’t really matter. I don’t have channel-VU’s on my controller, but that doesn’t set me back in any way.

Should be possible to add a separate MIDI unit with 4 VU’s on it and map those to the decks… does anyone know about such an unit?

While I like channel VUs I also do not have them on my controller. I really do not need master VU at all as the PA has them anyways and I can hear clipping with my own 2 ears 😉
However like synthet1c said I have no problem with the VUs in VDJ.

Well I’m not concerned with master VU levels, but rather channel levels which I believe is what is showing on the Mixage if I’m not mistaken. But even if those are not there on the controller it seems that VDJ (and I assume the other softwares as well) does have channel levels as well as master levels within the software.

So now if that is not such an issue I’m still debating what which one to get now…Beatmix or Mixage? I’m leaning to Beatmix since it’s newer, comes with VDJ, can be mapped to Serato and Traktor from what I’ve read, more outputs, etc.

    Any other feedback?

A little birdy told the VDJ forum that Version 7.1 will be released in the next 14 days as VDJ8 is taking a while to release..

    **unconfirmed**

Some software (eg Serato) doesn’t have VUs so it becomes more important to have them on your hardware.

It’s coming handy if you want to manually adjust the gain (map it to pre-fader)

I use serato itch so they definitely come in handy?
