I know other styles beatmatch, Im not ignorant.Like I mentioned earlier, I respect your opinion, Im just stating mine.

The point I was trying to get across to you Majestic, is try to get a unit that has jogwheels.(opinion) Im not trying to hate on you or your style.

I remember back in the days of analog with my 1200s I taught myself to scratch and when I did scratch at a venue, people loved it. Only in moderation though!! You’re right though… anybody can play music; but what it comes down to is the talent of reading the crowd, and knowing what to play. A little scratching just adds a bit of uniqueness to your set.

I dont personally mind scratching, ill be the first to admit im shit at it myself but I add a little when practising, loop a beat and just mess with it, but its the same with fx too much of it can ruin a nice song selection.

Fair play to the dj’s that can scratch well but a lot of night clubs that are mainstream its more about pop/dance/top 40 mixed in a mediocre manor. I think its the underground dj’s that put more effort into there techniques and think outside the box, (not dissing the pop/chart dj’s as some can be amazing and go out of their way to spice up stuff but I find a lot do it for image where I live, follow the crowd and not the music they personally like)

That’s talent. It’s like using the turntables as a musical instrument.

My two cents, your VCI300 is the most faithful device for copying simply the act of playing two records… Which is how we used to do it whatever the style.
