You’re right to be cautious about working out a workflow before making decisions about the right way to go. Personally, I’d avoid Apple Music entirely if you’re using iTunes for your local music library, as I find the way it blends online and offline, owned and streamed music too confusing/fraught with danger for our DJ use case. If you stick with Spotify for instance you can keep both worlds separate. Another alternative is to use Apple Music and iTunes for streaming, and keep your DJ library out of iTunes entirely.

Yea, thank you so much Phil, that is exactly what I was afraid of, there are some loose lines in there. There is clear and present DANGER. BLOATED.

    Spotify maybe, good thought.

I’ve always wanted to move my library to Serato only. I can’t stand the way you can’t adjust track sequence inside an iTunes playlist while playing in Serato. I currently use a combination of iTunes lists and Serato Crates. It’s a system, It’s not GREAT. If I moved my library to Serato alone then I could listen and build elsewhere. I suppose the iPod is the only major downside, I use it often for remote location spot playing and always use it for a backup plan at gigs. If you disconnect iTunes from Serato how do you import the music?

I get that there is no correct way, only a way that works for you. As always I appreciate everything. I’m going to be on these FORUMS more. This is Solid.
