My friend has the AKAI LPD8 and it’s fine. I’ve got Korg Nanopad myself and it’s a good purchase as well.

If you mean Serato DJ -> only certified controllers will work with Serato DJ, pads like the LPD8 only can be used as a “secondary” controller in connection with your certified Serato Controller.
For example I tested the Terminal Mix 4 (Serato Controller) with the LPD8 and it was a great combination, they work nicely together and the LPD8 was very easy to map to serato DJ.

Thanks Terry yes thats what I mean, I want to use the akai LPD8 as a secondary controller, I believe the pads are pretty much the same as what my Mixtrack pro 2 has, so would be a nice combination. Is it not possible to remap certain features to my primary controller?

Im running a Macbook Pro 2010 13″ will I need a powered USB hub or will my macbook power both controllers?

Sorry for asking so many questions 😀

MacBook will power both controllers, and as far as I am aware you can map any button on MTP or LPD8 to any function in serato

No you cannot. You cannot re-map anything on your primary controller. You can only map functions to the pad controller.

I am running Virtual DJ, with a DJC.4 and am also looking for something like the akai lpd8 as a secondary controller. Any idea on how well VDJ works with something like that?
