DJing is like anything else, sometimes you will feel like you’re not enjoying your craft. Walk away and relax and appreciate other mixes from other DJs or even listen to songs from beginning to end. Listen to classics, different genres. Appreciate the sounds you might have otherwise missed because your pressuring to mix. This time to chill might give you ideas to come back and perfect your craft with some new ideas that came during your musical journey.

Nice advice, inspiration is part of the craft, might need to step back and take some time to absorb it.

The one thing I’d like to say on the subject is to be careful not to overshoot your goal when trying to get rid of the “boredom”. If every single transition is “fancy” it can have an adverse effect on the crowd. There is nothing wrong with a couple of “boring” but well executed beat-matched transitions in a row.

Ticked me off everytime, during a breakdown a DJ doing some (AWFULL) scratch, like wth ?? you want to scratch ? go register at the nearby battle dj competition

dont worry, Cant Scratch – Wont Scratch lol..
but seriously, i would say 90 percent of my sets mixing is the average clean mix and blend, the other 10 percent is either simple cue and play, or maybe one or two “fancy” mixes. Bearing in mind i usually play like four to six hour sets sometimes !
Just want to keep pushing myself for more of a challenge without losing interest.
Ofcourse with any set, “the journey” is part of the challenge on its own, taking them from beginning to end. But i was speaking more on technical terms, for your own achievements.
i think OneSeven hit it on the head!
p.s i wont overdo it, thanks guys -_-
