ParticipantI’ve had the NS6 of just a little over a year now and I love it. Its just a pain to haul around due to its size. The possibilities are endless. Im a mobile Dj and I play everything. There are a bunch of youtube videos including the Dj cerla one where he is doing his thing. This was also my 1st 4 deck controller but I really dont use all four decks unless I am playing house. Loop rolls are fun and the riser effects are pretty fun. Like all new toys, practice practice, practice. I love the response of the jogs, and the only real problem I have ever had was that I needed to replace the usb cable. O and the cross fader is starting to bleed but thats from me really not taking care of it during transportation from gig to gig. The sync button really helps when you are using 4 channels. Its a bitch to try and beat match 4 tracks while adding fx and transitions. Just make sure your library is in good order as far as cue points, beat grid and all. I mean still today it sits on the upper tier of controllers. Its jammed packed with 5 cue points, the sp-6 sampler, a nice array of fx, love that tremelo and hp high and lp low. Its been my work horse and I am a satisfied customer.

ParticipantThanks for all the feedback on it ! I’m so excited to put this to use for New Years Eve. I might head up to a local Guitar Center and get a Coffin Case for it just to help with transporting it. I could kind of tell that 4 channels would only work well with House, anything else seems like it might get a little out of hand. Are you going to upgrade to Serato DJ for free in the spring and use that?

ParticipantI use the 4trak, which is basically Numark’s non-plastic traktor variant of the ns6. When actually adding a signature or some live-remixing to your sets, it can be great to have a variant of build-up/ bass line tracks set to your c & d channels, then beat-matching/ killing to low-end of your a deck to bring in the sound on the D track. Cue-juggling is also great with another deck; you can let one play out while you are throwing acapella tracks on top, and still easily transition into your next song.
While you may not need/be able to utilize a f1 with serato, I find myself using my f1 on track d, having an assortment of a cappella/drum tracks/bass tracks on deck c, then using decks a/b to mix. Nothing like turning top40 bullshit into electro at the drop of a hat, and adding a live performance aspect unaided by DAWs.

ParticipantAny tips that involve making top40 actually bearable are more than welcome by me ! Thanks for the response !! What’s your preferred way of finding good quality acapella tracks?

i belong to 3 dj pools; which is a bit of overkill if u asked me. sooooo many tracks, not enough time in a day : (

ParticipantFinding good quality acapella tracks is rough, acapells4u limits your downloads per-month, and I’ve yet to find a truly reliable source. I’ve been looking for a quality Natural Born Killers acapella to throw in the remix deck for 2 weeks to no avail yet =/

ParticipantSerato DJ corrects a lot of the issues I had with the Numark NS6, but I sold mine to pick up the Pioneer DDJ-SX

ParticipantSeeing as how the ns6 is primarily a Serato controller (don’t believe it has native traktor support), that makes sense XD.

Participantmy crossfader is acting up and when i am trying to use it to fade between deck A and B it continues to play both channels. The only thing i have tried is the switches on the front from L and R but it just restarts the song when i move the crossfader. Any ideas ?
