Don’t forget about the Rock Hits, Disco and Funk tracks. Ex: below

Queen- Another one bites the dust
    Stevie Wonder- Superstition
A Tasty of Honey- Boogie Oogie Oogie (Famous tracks with Skate Rinks)
Lipps Inc- Funky Town (Reminds me of the Malcolm in the Middle episode when they where skating)

Hopefully they allow you to play something like pop music or top 40’s depending on your crowd.
One thing I would do (and have done in the past) is I would give out glow sticks (you know the Necklace and bracelet kind) if you or your Skate Rink has the budget and the Rink is a bit dark.

    Journey- Don’t Stop Believin’
and maybe Journey- Love will find you (Separate Ways)…. I get a good laugh out of Separate Ways.

Uh, I don’t know how that will go over…..The crowd is mainly older people, who like soul and R&B, some deep house maybe.

You’re a dj so you can’t always assume what you’re audience like which is why we read the crowd, you always have to be prepared I had a female this past Saturday in her 40’s(or so she look like she’s in her 40’s) ask me to play Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” which should also be good for a skating rink. I played it, lucky for me I play several genres and songs like Get Lucky seems to be popular, look at Bruno Mars track called “Treasure” that should be good for skating.

yeah, i picked Get Lucky, plus a Suit & Tie remix that uses the same beat, and, not to discredit the value of your statement (I really appreciate your help), but the crowd seems pretty set in style. They’ve had me come in the last few weeks and watch some of the other DJs spin, and one of them, just to show me, tried switching to something more…youthful, shall we say….and almost started a angry riot
