If you went for Old Greg, you would have to drink Bailey’s from a shoe.

I think dötzer is cool and has all sorts of potential! Dötzer is similar to “dots” and all sorts of meanings. Just some that come off the top of my head:
    “connect the dots”
    “dot, dot, dot . . .”
    “dotted line”
    “follow the dotz”
    “polka dot”
    “dot her”
    “dot’s all folks!”

Okay, the last one is a bad pun. :-/
I don’t know your personality at all, but if you call yourself glitterbug you can’t be too pretentious.

The ö also could be a visual pun like somebody in shock: (:-0
or maybe pair them to seem like a turntable or something for a logo.

I think your name alone is fine ‘Belinda Dötzer’, no need to put DJ in front of it – forgive me for those who do, but it seems like only the cheesiest of DJ’s do so (just my view, not trolling). If you are concerned about mis-spelling Belinda, I’m sure they will learn it soon enough when all your publicity material is out – flyers FB page etc, etc. I mean how else will they learn after all, if you dont use it?

As for Dötzer, its german right? Well Germany has been the in place for DJ migration the last 5 years or so – Richie Hawtin, Magda, to name a couple of famous ones and I know of one my DJ friends is moving to Berlin soon. As you might know the Claude von Stroke is a made up name his real name is Barclay Crenshaw, an American, he wanted a european name as he thought he would have more chance to make it, which he did. Same goes for Jaques Lu Cont aka Les Rhythmes Digitales, who is really Stuart Price, a brit, he wanted a french name because that the media were hyping up french acts like Daft Punk and Air at the time he was trying to break it. Well you have a real ‘European’ name – use it to your advantage I reckon 🙂

damn…i missed all these lovely answers…;)well @reason…no, i dont take myself too serious….but the last few days i trieyd to get comfy with charlotte noir, and i actually did…but the polka dot wud have been fun too…yay…shitloads of flyers with dots all over to go on everybody’s nerves…..;)…and haroon…no way im gonna put a “dj” in front of my name..;)…i think for a girl you have to choose djane then and that sounds stupid and a bit clumsy…;)…and thanks for taking the time for answering that long…so i seem to make the right desicion in choosing a french name and kicking off the english one…;)..to be honest i fell really good with charlotte noir now…gonna play my next gig on friday with the glitterbug and then switch definetely…..btw..if you guys wanna know what i sound like:

Dötzer is good, kinda like tiesto with the o thing, and there are plenty of good german DJ names (paul van dyk, armin van buuren)

    #13010

vyn dyk and van buuren aren’t german…;)…thats actually typical names from the netherlands….and tiesto isnt german either…i got no clue where that names comes from, but its not german at all…;)

That’s the other thing, all european names sound equally cool to americans 😉
