    Most DJ software do not fully support Windows 8 yet.
    Other than that most guys I know use Macs, so no idea, but from what I have heard Toshiba is not as good as they were and most folks have moved away and to HP or Dell.

    Yeah, imho Toshiba has slid down the slope the last few years. HP and Dell are obvious candidates, but also worth looking at Lenovo (former IBM). And, as Terry pointed out, many people on Apple’s these days. If you buy it for the sole purpose of DJ-ing, I’d prefer a young used MacBook Pro to a new windows laptop.

    If you decide to go windows anyway, you can look at the business models of the big brands. Especially HP and Lenovo. Their business lines still come with Win 7 pre-installed.

    I’d recomend Asus since they are rated #1 for reliability. It’s what i use now. Not a huge fan of dell but asus acer and lenovo (as long as its not one with a fancy hinge which i have known to have issues after a while) you should e fine.

    I advice against Acer. We had to take it out of our program since we had so many return units it was getting ridiculous.
    Lenovo is good, do not know about Asus…
