^ that sounds like a shit ton of extra work…what do you do with songs that are like 2 different genres? Progressive Electro, Housy Electro etc?

With the grouping option and using smart playlists it will automatically create playlist that meet certian fields. This way all you have to do is just tag them properly and it will be in that playlist.

It would be a total nightmare for me to find a certian song within all those folders lol.

The way i have it set up is

Artist (original artist), Track name, Album is the last person who touched the song aka Lazy Rich remixes, or what not.
Then in the Genre it is what the main genre is….then under my grouping field i have it set to the feel of the song

Swing, Funky, Banging, Big Room, Synthy, Jackin, Housy, Ambient, Breaky, Peak Hours blah blah blah u can make a ton of names for the feel of the song

Then with the rating system i rate it for the time of the night..1 being the beginning and 5 stars being the end of the night

I use comments to tag all my Camelot wheel

I then use the smart playlists and set rules to be like Genre: Electro House, Grouping: Banging,

so that smart playlist will always be up to date for all songs that i tag as electro and with the grouping Banging

Now that that is done i can browse through all my smart playlists and create a playlist for a specific night.

As well i have showcase pieces in seperate playlists…this could consisit of up to 5 songs that just go super well together.
Usually i only find these through trial and error of just fucking around with tracks on a regular basis.

you call it a shit ton of work, but on my view, as the playlists arent automatically made and I manually select the tracks, I already know beforehand every single track on my traktor playlist to play. I dont trust itunes to give me the tracks to play, even if it is with parameters I set. I tag the key with KeyFinder in the Key section, place some extra hot cues for some specific transitions and im off to go.

I dont use Smart playlists to DJ with specifically…the Smart Playlists help organize all my tracks based on genre and feel and from that I create my own Playlists that i will playout with.
