Honestly. I would call that a downgrade if I lose my laptop and all its possibilities.

I don’t do a lot of FX and such, nor do i do a whole lot of beat juggeling,i actually mix more old school Chicago movement DJing style,so the whole, losing possibilities, not a big thing for me.Plus i’ve had people try to steal my laptop which also makes me want an all in one unit.

If you are traditional the Mixdeck Quad is much more traditional than the XDJ-R1 (which is the same as the Aero).

And here i was leaning towards getting the Aero for t’s low profile.Guess i should try and find a way to Demo the units and then decide.

It is low profile but the buttons and how things work is rather non-traditional.
I like it for use with a laptop or songs prepared in rekordbox and many things are tuned to make the jogs work with the effects, which you obviously do not like, whereas the mixdeck is a simple CDJ setup lookalike easy to use and may also be used with a laptop, but its a secondary thing.

That’s the thing,i don’t generally use CD’s,most of my music is on a USB Memory stick. So one could say i’m a rather untraditional traditionalist, like i don’t use FX often but i do use them,i don’t have a scratch routine but i still scratch from time to time during a mix,i don’t make my entire mix into a blend but it is my dominant style. So i guess i’m a jack of all trades as far as DJing,so i kind of need a unit to reflect that.

I have not used CDs with CDJs in the last 5 years… so in my above statement there is no reference to using CDs.
