ModeratorHi,
Yep, I played with the MC2000 on occassion (although I owned a MC6000). Far as I am concerned it’s a very nice starter controller that you can definitely take to play at (smaller) venues.
It’s also very sturdy, so great for the road.

ParticipantI use it for mobile gigs. The lack of metering and dedicated filter knobs are my only omissions, but other than that its very, very nice.
The audio interface isn’t the best possible, the sound will get rather horrible if you use keylock and move pitch more than, say 4%. This can however be fixed with full serato DJ + pitch ‘n’ time purchase.

ParticipantNot to mention, that you can always map the missing functions to another device, such as a Korg nanopad (and they’re cheap).

ParticipantLooks like you’ve made a good choice. I have no personal experience with the MC2000, but have my eye on it still for a small/portable controller. It would fit into my laptop bag, Mixtrack Pro 2 won’t fit. If my MTP2 ever dies I’ll be adding one to my setup for small gigs and backup most likely. Once you outgrow DJ Intro, the addition of a Reloop Neon or something similar, and the full Serato DJ, would make for a nice, compact, inexpensive setup. I’ve used my MTP2 for gigs, and although I think it would be out of place if taken on a larger gig at a nightclub or festival, I think you’ll be fine with the Denon. It will likely serve you well into doing gigs that will pay for the next upgrade. Once you’re doing places that have a “sound tech”, or needing balanced connections, you might run into issues. Might. But by that point you’ve likely got it sorted or have upgraded anyway. Keep us posted when you get the kit in, and let us know how everything goes.

Participanttnx for your posts… i have picked this one for good reviews on many sites and users as my first controller and build quality , portability, but the important thing is the sound ,,, i will write when i try to connect on amplifier and speakers.

ModeratorHi, I don’t have an MC2000 at this moment, so I can’t tell you. I don’t recall having the problems you mention though.
Hopefully one of the other owners can help you with this one.

ModeratorYeah, no reason why it shouldn’t work really. Again, hopefully someone with the 2000 AND using Traktor can help you along.

ModeratorOdd. Perhaps a power issue. Have you tried using a powered USB hub to connect the MC2000?
