dj software is made to be performed live with… vdj8 will have a timeline function similar to mixmiester but that won’t be out for a while yet… If you don’t want to mix live I’d say your best bet is to get the dedicated mixmiester controller as that’s what it’s built for.

other then that if you stick with MM just get any old midi controller as the S2 doesn’t play nice when mapping to other software… Try and import something if you can, china is close and incredibly cheap, all you have to do is request a sample from the manufacturer saying you are looking at starting a business relationship importing midi controllers… blah blah blah…
