I have a mid 2012 13″ Macbook Pro and it handles my set up just fine. Numark NS6 with Serato DJ and Reloop Neon. I have had two instances of my software shutting down on me during a gig, which is kind of embarrassing, but I got it right back up. There is a great article on how to optimize your Mac for DJing on DDJT and once I read up on that it has worked like a breeze since. I can’t speak for the 15″, but as far as the 13″ goes I love it and I’ve seen it more often among my colleagues.

Any new Macbook Pro will handle Serato DJ without EVER going red, no matter how much decks and effects you use.
The only thing that is sometimes going into yellow with me (new MacBook Air) is Pitch’n’Time Plugin, but I seldom use it.

As for 13 or 15 it is mostly how much screen real estate you want, the other tech facts do not matter. 8 GB RAM is enough by a long shot for Serato and as I said any new CPU can handle it.
Which screen you prefer is largely your personal preference, so I advise to check it out.

Thank you both for your replies,

Spoke to an Apple rep, and he said to me to choose the configuration I think is best and test it for a couple of days and within 14 day’s if I’m not happy I can return it to change it, or get a full refund.

    So I’ll think I’ll try 13″ first 🙂
