    it takes a bit to get use to the OS X Lion from win 7 but so far I’m loving it. Was setting up Traktor last night and will do the S4 tomorrow. Then it’s putting it through as much as I can to see how it all runs…….stay tuned…..

    Ok had sometime to play with the MBP, Traktor with my S4. WOW works great!! I had the latency set to the lowest possible, had 2 decks playing all sample decks looping and both FX on. Then I just started going crazy with any and everything to see if I can make it crash. All worked well!! But I did manage to crash it while I added a folder to a playlist. Screen went back but the music kept playing. Keep in mind I had other apps open and also running VMware with windows 7. Yes I can’t let go of some windows software so I installed it on my mac. This also works great! So I did a reboot with nothing else running except Traktor and my S4 no problems at all. CPU meter barely moved!

    So all in all im loving my mac! If your in need of a new laptop go mac!!! Not to say windows sucks but I see now what the hype is all about…or should I say it’s just reality?

    LOL easier said then done!! I thought I could do it but there’s too much I have involved with Win7 to just give it all up.

    @Groovemixer I am about to buy a mac, I have enough cash for any model however I would like to get the smallest screen possible without me having to squint when I am mixing …lol

    how do you rate the 13″ as far as screen real estate?

    I have seen Scratch Live used on a 13″ and it looks fine, however I use Traktor Pro 2 – which has A LOT more going on.

    I use Traktor on a MacBook pro 13″ and it’s fine as long as I don’t want to do 4 deck mixing (I don’t). But 2″ makes a big difference. If you can afford it, I’d go with the 15″.

    Shame, I went from mac to PC for djing. 14.1″ is my perfect size as well.

    I agree 15 is preferable but 13 is more portable.

    I just got a 13″ 2.8 i7 with 8GB RAM
    I’d rather portability and don’t often use 4 decks, but if I do I’ll just make a custom layout

    edit – I don’t really care if I can see the wave or not and rarely look at the screen to DJ

    We just did our work Christmas party my friends 17″ MBP, my 13″ MBP, Traktor S4 & my EVO5. Night went great with no issues. I’m use to my 13″ now so the 17″ seems too big for me LOL. I use it with 2 decks + 2 sample decks with no issues. Have the font set to 16.

    I’m loving the MBP, only thing I regret is that I should of bought one years ago.

    I bought my macbook pro 3 months ago, true enough once you go mac you wont look back.. It is safer, and more reliable in my opinion…

    13 inch MacBook pro Plus traktor s4 playing nonstop for seven hours… No problem. I too regret not investing in a MBP sooner.

    I got the 13″ at Best Buy, brought it home, opened it…… Packed it back up and brought it back and got the 15″…. I am so happy I did. I love the thing!!!! Its only been a month since I left Windows and I am so happy

    It’s personal of course, but there are so many little things about the Mac that you miss when you switch back to PC for whatever reason.
