Richie Hawtin’s collaboration with long time associate Andy Rigby Jones (ex Allen & Heath) is the Model 1 – a six channel studio quality 100% analogue club mixer. As you might expect from a Hawtin developed product, particular attention is paid to the EQ and filtering (semi parametric and contoured, respectively) and there is no crossfader. The six channels hint at its use for underground DJs / performers wishing to add in extra studio gear, such as synths and drum machines. Perhaps in keeping with this, it also features a dual cue system for more streamlined back to back DJ set monitoring. Pricey, but top quality.
