It’s always the case that software outruns controllers. For instance, no controller currently controls Itch 2.0’s sample decks.

If you want 1:1, the Kontrol S4 for Traktor is your only choice!

But if you’re happy to compromise, all the controllers you speak of do a great job, most of the time.

Cheers phil! Am I right in thinking you cannot change the mapping in itch?

I’m not sure about Itch, since it’s kind of a hybrid between full and LE, but Traktor, Mixxx, and VDJ (i think) have fairly robust mapping systems, and traktor’s is amazing if you really work it.

The stock Traktor mapping for the Twitch is pretty bad. But with a bit of mapping it could be an amazing traktor controller. The issue is the time that it would take.

For the price, Twitch is pretty damn good. Despite the fact it cant control sample decks, I have a feeling that may be changed soon with Numark looking like they’re going to release a controler specifically for Itch’s sample decks. (thanks to Gizmo at BPM ;))

Twitch is great value for money, and you cant go wrong with it!

Despite my earlier post, I agree with this, fantastic controller if you’re willing to take the time to learn all it’s functions. If only I could do custom mappings in serato. Slicer would be easily replaced for sample deck cues.

I had the same concerns, was ready to go buy the dx but then found out about the lack of control over the sample decks, i bought a second hand s4 in the end. if your looking around that price range you should find one!

No, Twitch uses Itch natively which is a closed system – no remapping.
