We have one of these here for review, it’s a solid, pro piece of kit.

I just saw a nice video from the MC-1000, which describes all the features:

So it’s got a 4 out interface? where are the outputs? On the back? then how can you put it right up against the mixer?
Are the play buttons high quality? And is there any word on the price?

The outputs are on the side :

Although with the DJM 900 you can even go to traktorfreaks.com and download the midi map for the DJM900 and use it solely as a Traktor controller.

Excuse my ignorance with this question but the “pitch bend / pitch-shift paddles” on the Zomo. I take it that they perform the same task as the pitch faders ? I ask this because I use it to beatmatch. On the Zomo there doesn’t appear to be a lot of travel with these pitch-shift paddles therefore I’m wondering how easy it is to accurately and quickly adjust the BPM this way. Phil when you review this unit could you please comment about this. Thanks in advance.

Otherwise looks like a great little unit … does the job of two X1’s at half the price.

I think the paddles act like pitch bend, allowing you to nudge tracks – effectivly replacing jogwheels.

yes i think the paddles act like the pitch bend too. @eros the setup with the CDJs look great, i wish i had the CDj2000. @Lockon Stratos the price in europe is about 300€.

Thanks for that Jezalenko & RealRasputin.

So using Traktor, if you nudge the paddles on the Zomo, will it then change the BPM & move the fader on the computer screen ? Again sorry if it seems like an obvious question, but for me it’s a major selling point because I’d love it if the X1 had those. I’ve been waiting for something like this.

Also thanks for starting the thread RR, this could be a great option for me as every club and bar here use DJM800 & 900..so currently I use 2 x X1/Audio 4 … but this could do all of that , plus its small with fewer connections to worry about as well.

If you have a had a chance to use it can you let us know what its like. Thanks

Yes, if you nudge the paddles, it will change the BPM. But the paddles are more for the use as a pitch bend, and not as a pitch fader, the controller is made for the use of the sync button, BUT i think you can map it at traktor, this should be no problem. I got the controller yesterday, but i didn t try this yet. But i will check it tomorow or thursday. I will keep u posted. 😉

I’m keen to see what the build quality is like on the unit, as it seems to use all Pioneer components for buttons/knobs etc. Even the pitchbend paddles look as though they’re off a CDJ1000!

Build quality is excellent, like a tank.

RR have you started using the Zomo ? Any updates?

    Hello Eros,
sorry for getting back so late. Yes i started using the zomo. A played around with it for a while, and i have correct me. You can use the Pitch paddle as Pitch fader. You only need to press the shift button once (not hold it, just once), and then it works as Pitch Fader. And it works very good, its accurately and you can also do it quickly, i really like it! It also shows on the computer screen. Let me know if you have further questions…

    Hi RealRasputin
Thanks for your review. I watched Phil’s video on it as well and I have to say it looks like an awesome unit. Thanks for clarifying that the Pitch Paddle act as a Pitch Fader. It is definitely something I’d be interested in as most clubs here use DJM800 or 900. Do you use it to DJ in clubs ? How do you find set up and plugging in process when you’re taking over ?

Now if i could only have a play on one… it looks like something to finally replace the omni control
Would i miss the jogs? I suspect “Yes” but the jury is still out!
