    If you type in the word “acapella” in google you will find out that there is some free stuff and some that you can buy.
    When there was CDs on the CD singles there often was acapella and instrumental.
    As for beats you can do the same but the word “instrumental”.
    You can use instrumentals or make your own beats…..
    Soundbanks for making your own beats depend of what SW you use.
    But can be baught online or in stores.
    Hope this will help you……

    Thanks alot Hessler, it helps for sure

    What software would you recommend for doing stuff like that? Can you do it just with CDJ’s also?

    You will need some software to do machups/remixes.
    I recommend Ableton Live For machups/cut and past in music.
    It is the best program for timestretching and most remixers/mashupmakers uses this
    Ableton Live is also a very good program to make megamixes/mixtapes with.

    For beatmaking I recommend Reason, it is a very good sequencer prog and almost 100% of EDM producers uses it.

    And for music production if you will make your own music from scratch I recomend
    Rason + Cubase or Logic

    You will also need a good computer (Mac) and a usb keyboard….

    I use a combination of Ableton live/Reason/Cubase/Logic all of them and a lot of plug ins.
    Unfortionaly I have all this and A MacPro and Keyboard but not the time 🙁
    It is very timeconsuming (is that an english word) to produce music……

    There are some Excellent Points in DJ Hessler’s Post;
    However; Ableton (which is The Best Software Digital Audio Workstation in my Opinion); Reason; and Cubase; Cost A Lot Of Money; in your Introductory Thread I Suggested VDJ Pro 7 as it is Free; you already have a PC/Laptop (or you wouldn’t be writing on this Forum – Possibly); and you have Access to the Internet; and your Brain;
    This means you don’t have to spend a Penny More;
    There are Loads of Acapellas on YouTube; on a site calle Acapellas4U.com (Free); or you can ‘Cut’ your Samples from CD’s you already Own;
    At Any Point during a Track there is Likely to be a Vocal Without A Beat; and a Beat Without A Vocal;
    These are the things you Need to be ‘Cutting’ if you wish to Recreate some of the things you have heard and enjoy;
    I do use Ableton; but I also have VDJ 7 Pro; and it is ‘From The Waveform’ that you are Cutting These Samples; if you are doing it yourself of course; otherwise a Big Search on the Internet will Find Everything You Need;
    Once you have Cut a Sample you ‘Save this Sample To Your Hard Drive’ and Treat It Like A Seperate Track;
    Then; you bring this ‘Seperate Track’ into your Mix ‘Wherever You Like’; as a Break; as a Layer On Top Of Another Track; or however You Choose 🙂

    Just a small correction to Emma’s post. It’s Acapellas4u.co.uk.

    Accapellas4U is a great site.

    I like Loopmasters in terms of sounds you can buy. They have nice collections.

    I also think you can get a lot of the tracks you buy. When I tried producing, I would take some beats just from other tracks I liked…off their intros.

    Look into VSTs when you’re talking synths. Scan around YouTube for tutorials on how to do certain things on your choice of DAW.

    My friend is nudging on me to remix stuff he produces. I dunno…I never thought my few “productions” were that good to begin with.
