    Which software to use? Virtual DJ, Traktor, Itch ?
    PC or MAC?
    Controller or Time-code?

    So, you only need a (inexpensive) pc and an optional external soundcard like Audio 2 dj.

    Well I wanted to move Past That ! Like Get some cdj’s? Or Turntables1 I was wondering What would be the best thing to buy!

    4x CDJ2000s, DJM2000 mixer, Traktor Scratch Pro, 2x Kontrol X1s and, oooh, maybe a Maschine or Midi-fighter to round it off?

    If you want some useful help Patrick, give us something to work with. How long you’ve been DJing, what kind of music you like to play, whether you have a preference for any particuluar software or setup option (DVS, controller, CDJs etc). Also a budget would help as well. Simply asking “what setup should I buy” will get you instantly hated on in some forums.

    So how long have you been DJing, what do you like to mix, whats your budget and do you have any preferances for anything?

    Well the Patrick you might want to check out the Denon DN-MC6000, that’s a pretty sweet unit – not only is it a 4 deck controller, it’s a 4 channel stand-alone mixer, so you can plug in CDs, vinyl, whatever into it – and you dont even need your computer running! (what is great for those house parties) It also come with VDJ free if you are in Canada/US.

    Also take at look at the Vestax VCI-100/300 – while they come with Traktor/Itch, VDJ does have stock mappings for both, so it’s virtually plug and play there too. (And I know Phil can vouch for the VCI-300!)

    My advice would be to head down to your local music store, and ask them if you can have a play on what you’re intersted in. You might prefer one or the other, but you just have to use them to know!
