    Nothing wrong with that, and I think his explanation is solid. Again, it’s only DJs who get upset about these kinds of things, not the obviously happy crowd. Milli Vanilli it isn’t.

    I don’t think it’s a big deal. From working in professional production, I know it’s extremely hard to time events such as lighting cues and videos, especially if the performer is performing on the fly. At least with a band, you can time it based on the chorus, or x bars after a certain point or something. I can’t even imagine how hard it must be with pyrotechnics.

    The difference here is that people are coming to see him. He is the show/concert if you will. As long as your not just pressing play at the beginning of the set and never touch the controls again, why would it matter if he pre-arranges some parts? In a club/party situation, you have to keep an eye on the crowd and react accordingly. He has alot more leeway in this situation.

    Just my opinion 🙂

    That quote bothered me, too. I think he should spend more time with his daughter.

    While I agree with both of you on that I think it’s how he seems to glorify it that irks me more. He could have left it at ‘life.’ But to, seemingly, brag that you mix more than work at being a father is very uncool.

    Absolutely True my Friend;
    If a Lightening Technician is Unable to Freestyle to a Sound; he Shouldn’t be a Lightening Technician;
    He should have a Tracklist; ‘Learn’ the Tracks; and then Organise ‘His Set’ to Fit To The DJ’s

    This is Totally Cool my Friend 🙂
    We (as DJ’s) have the Capacity to Learn Many Buttons within Hardware; to just let off some Fireworks he could have a series of Buttons he could just Press at the given Time;
    He has Released some Awesome Tracks; but from the Images in this Video of him with his Hands In The Air (as if he is Jesus); has Tainted His Name in My Mind; and Unfortunately I Cannot See How these Feelings Will Ever Change Now

    He does come off as very arrogant, especially considering that he (supposedly) said this as well:

    “I love the fact that ppl don’t think I am mixing cause I’m not wearing headphones all the time .. I play 160 gigs a year , and have dj’d for 15 years . Just cause someone is doing something different doesn’t mean that its fake .. I think all of u who think so should stop being such haters and come see for yourself .. I play the same records everyday I don’t need to listen to what I do .. Its my party trick and respect that instead of hating on it . If u doubt it come in the both or try do it yourself before u judge !! Ok .. Nuff said .. SA”

    To be honest I very rarely play with headphones either since I have load points on all my songs and know them off by heart but then again im using a different medium compaired to cdjs which would be harder to do this, I have the odd time listened to tracks I like whilst playing out a track I dont like so they do have their uses to be honest :p,
    But yeah I think he was just being lazy to be honest, and turning your back to thousands of paying fans is rude.
