Performance, more performance, perfect performance. That takes priority over any features, IMHO.

Then maybe Traktorish beatgrids for autoloops (i.e. one-touch 1/4/8/16/32 beat loops)?
Make use of multitouch screens to the max! I presume that you’re already using it for simultaneous control use. Have an option to replace the pitch fader with a button that, when held, would show a pitch fader that takes up the entire height of the screen, for better control over the fader (can move in smaller increments).

EDIT: MIDI output, instead of track output? As an option, of course. Would widen your market, methinks.

    Thnx,

Performance will be good, it loads the tracks much faster then some other DJ apps.
The sync button you are seeing is not for BPM matching but to sync cues, loops, hotcues and hotloops with other iOS devices.
I’ve heard autoloop from others too, but it’s not yet implemented (we had so much trouble finding a good BPM analysis and a good waveform (not very satisfied with this result actually) that we didn’t dare to put it in yet because offeringc loops it has to be perfect).
Of course we offer multiple controlls in the app.
For the fader it will be possible to touch the – and the + area’s to move the fader with just 0,05% (depening on which range the fader is set).

MIDI OUT we didn’t thought about yet, MIDI IN crossed our minds but at this point we don’t see any people use this app as a controller combined with laptopsoftware.

Also this app differs from the current DJ apps which all run (minimum) two decks and a mixer in the app. The photo you are looking at is basically it, no other screens so 1 iPad simulates 1 CDJ. We are not sure if that is the correct way (because other apps have a different approach) but we thought that to use it in a professional environment a mixer was needed anyway so a second iPad (or CDJ) wouldn’t be a big drawback to use anyway.

Looks interesting. I’m using Djay for iPad as my backup/emergency in case my laptop should ever catch on fire. I even used it once at a party, and it worked surprisingly well—I think there’s a real future for the iPad as a DJ tool. Please let us know when it’s released.

    Thnx for the comment.
We will deliver it to Apple by the end of this month (when it seems successful in testing) so pretty soon actually.
