Membernot gonna pretend to be an expert here.. But as I recall there should be a setting for using 2 cards somewhere in the options. Set one to internal (built in) the other to external. Not sure if it works the same way with a pro. But I use a mixtrack and an audio dj card. I use my laptops card for the mix and the card for cueing simply because I only have 1 jack.

MemberJohn, that sounds like Traktor, not Virtual DJ, which is what Mike is using.
Mike, as far as I’m aware, VDJ cant support mulitple soundcards. I fiddled with this as well, and I’m pretty sure it isnt possible, but I’d like to be proven wrong.
I’m afraid your only option might be to get hold of some speakers which can take that RCA from the back. Really, anything will do here, it’s just a matter of what you can find…

MemberI@m sure the trial doesnt allow headphones, its what nags you to buy lol
Might be best uninstalling and reverting to your LE copy … Lemme fire up mine and check the settings but bear in mind im on pro7 full here..July 29, 2011 at 1:29 pm #4875U31
MemberRight then.. Config on the top right as you look at it-
Sound set up.
Inputs: none
Outputs ( i do this a few ways but easiest is) Headphones (second icon on dropdown ) master: chan 1&2 / headphones :chan 3/4sound card: asio driver (4th dropdown) then click ultra latency and see if it works fine with no sound drop outs. if it does act weird de select and click asio config to find highest stable latency

MemberHey guys, I’ve tried all the recommended procedures here but still not getting anywhere :(. I have managed to figure out more or less what’s going on though.
I want to use the mixtrack pro to cue and the computers internal soundcard/speakers for the main out. The problem is when I select outputs and choose Master: chan 1-2 / Headphones: Chan 3-4, it’s telling the mixtrack to output the master sound out of the mixtrack’s chan 1-2 (which is connected to nothing). I need to find out how to change the master out to the internal speakers.
I tried the ASIO driver but unfortunatly I didn’t get anywhere with it. I’m just gonna keep on trying until I figure it out i guess. I’m so disappointed this turned out to be harder than I thought. I think if this doesn’t work i’m jut going to have to but a couple of speakers and route out the mixtracks chan 1-2.

MemberThere is your problem, you want to use your laptop speakers and you cant as there is no second soundcard to run the headphones. I have omnicontrol so am not 100% sure about the mixtrack but there should be 4 rca outs, 1&2 are master 3&4 are phones and a headphone jack for phones as well.
You need to get your master sound from these 1&2 rca’s
Can you not run a line in to your hifi?July 29, 2011 at 5:43 pm #4890U31
MemberThis way i think might work but i promise that nine times out of ten you’ll get latency issues of the phones being a mile out from the master
Output:external mixer
Soundcard : 2 cards (The asio from the mixtrack and 2nd is whatever your lappy has in built) Primary sound driver (lappy) and Asio (phones)
The other option is one of them £1 usb headphone soundcards and set that as the headphone out, thse work with no issues.. i know, its what i did first long before i found this place!July 30, 2011 at 12:19 am #4905pilotmike327
MemberU31, I really appreciate the in-depth responses. Many thanks. Connecting it into my living rooms speakers had it working the way it should. I think I will just end up practicing from there to avoid any further headaches for now :p

Memberhmmm.. well I was using VDJ home and LE and had no problems running off internal for main and external for cueing. I’ll hook up sometime tomorrow and see how I set it all up again. I remember it being confusing and somewhat bassakwards I think I just sorta stumbled upon it actually haha.

That’s exactly how i run it, running through laptop speakers loses so much quality anyhow i only do it to see if the harmonics of tunes are similar when im figuring out a set..

ParticipantThe built in speakers use the on-board soundcard in your laptop. You’ll need to use external sound systems with the Mixtrack.

MemberAlright here’s my settings for VDJ with a mixtrack + audio 2dj, using internal sound for master out and the audio 2 for cueing…
Inputs = none
Outputs = set to headphones, Master: first card/ Headphones: second card
Sound card = set to 2 cards, card 1: built in output, card 2: Audio 2August 5, 2011 at 4:05 pm #5231Benny Mackney

PROVEN WRONG, HARDCORE! Not a practical setup but it gets the point across. VDJ 7 Pro, btw. I couldn’t open up the LE version for a test because it refuses to start without a connection to the controller it came with (which I sold to a friend when I got my S4).

More practical (and highly recommended):
