    First of all congratulation on your big gig opportunity. I hope it’s going to be a great time not a waste.
    Laptop looks fine I should be pretty much ok. Also I like the design pretty nice.

    Awesome! Nothing like that feeling of getting your first chance to make something happen. Good luck, and don’t get discouraged if it takes a few weeks for word to spread.
    How big is your town, and how many people do you know that like EDM?

    Congratulations … and don’t listen to everyone on here telling you to get a Mac. Although in all fairness, Mac’s ARE great for DJ-ing 8-).

    I’m from central Texas, no I don’t ride horses everywhere, I do own a couple of guns though lol. I live in a town of about 100k people it’s a small city; Baylor is the largest of 3 schools here, 2 community colleges. It’s the first time anyone has really tried to start a weekly “EDM” based night (it’s mostly rap/hiphop, spanish, or country), they’re giving us complete freedom and have agreed to not interfere with the playlist, it’s completely our night.
    I honestly wouldn’t mind a Mac, it’s just out of my budget haha.

    Congrats!! Nice laptop, I’m using an HP DV7… Gonna assume yours will come with win8, so far I’ve had no problems with mine and traktor! (On win8) I’m using an i7 processor as well

    Ouch, Central Texas, EDM…
    That would be kind of rough, be easy to dem folks, don’t start storming them with a heavy sets of EDM at first or they would run out of the door, lol

    haha i threw an event a while back, in may, and it was pretty successful; we brought in a “headliner” (PIERRE from dallas). oh, by successful i mean successful for central texas haha, we had about 350-400 show and made profit on our first event, we kept it 95% edm with a little bit of old school hip hop. hopefully, with baylor back in town it’ll thrive haha.

    i went shopping around today and found a mac book pro that i’ll be able to do payments on, so i think i might head in that direction >.< hopefully it won't bite me in the arse.

    They keep their value pretty much, as opposed to Windows laptops.

    yeah, which is why i didn’t rush out and buy a random laptop, i actually shopped around. I won’t be able to get it this week so I’ll be using cdjs this event (my laptop lags with Traktor often). :/
