And the answer is … drumm roll … Yes, you can save both on one stick I think. However, carrying two sticks (taking into account, weight, volume, size and the opportunity to hook two up to a keyring) wouldn’t be an issue. You could even color-code your stick depending on platform. What DOES bother me is the idea of having to do everything twice. Every beatgrid, every cue point, loop, hot cue.
It really IS time for a universal agreement between companies on how to store all that stuff with your MP3 and be readable in ANY DJ SOFTWARE. Wherever your music goes, your info goes. If you take your USB stick anywhere that has CD-layers (not just Pioneer) that have a USB port, stick it in, load a track and presto! all your point and stuff in there. Maybe not your beatgrids, and maybe not the search index (typical proprietary ways of doing things), but all the rest for sure.
Oh well, said it before, but probably won’t be happening.
