    I’d easily come back to my “go-to” free software for this kind of stuff (before I had DAW software like ProTools and such :D).

    You could do this with Audacity, a free and easy to use audio editor that runs on pcs (and mac)

    Yes, Audacity, just use the mark/flag options on each tracks, and you good to go !

    I concur. Audacity for splitting tracks and also putting them together again

    I use Goldenwave in it’s Evaluation (free) form, years ago you can only take so many actions until it stopped working and you had to reinstall it. Now it works just like any normal software.
