Well it happens. I know it can be frustrating, but the best thing you can do is not to get angry about it.
Let it go and go somewhere else. It is their loss, from what I just heard at your soundcloud page, you songs are really good so I suspect your sets are as well. I know “get over it” sounds easy, but anger will only get you negative energy.
Be positive and know you are good enough and you will get another residency in an even better club.

It’s an experience every DJ/Producer should make once, also a good way to get you back to reality ^^
Last time my GF and I had some bad experience with a chinese wannabe yuppie, we channeled our negative energy into a song (with chineses swearwords, yesyes!) https://soundcloud.com/tjbass/cao

Dang!! I’m sorry to here that dude. I can believe the manager would do something like that. Somewhere down the line they will realize they have made a big mistake.

Decide for yourself to never get angry again. Works for me.
Of course this sounds easy, but it actually is hard work to never get angry again. But then if you appreciate what you have and do no longer focus on the things that happened (that are passed) but focus on what you do next…. my life got just a lot more wonderful and I wake up with a smile.

That’s too bad mate. I’ve been living in Thailand for a few years and have friends living in mainland china not far from HK. We both agree that many of the cultures here try to avoid confrontation and hate “loosing face” more than anything else. Maybe the fake dj incident happened because you called them out on their fake dj and they lost face?

Remember that party people don’t know what a sync button/transitions/beatmatching are ….only other DJs

This type of story is the one I hear very often, We have to realise that some people can’t tell the difference between creating something on the fly and just playing fancy, famous tunes. Sometimes there is no room for creativity in this bisness which is incredibly disapointing. Cheer up mate.

I wish I could say this is a new thing. I’ve seen shades of this even before the DVS was invented.

It’s one of the reasons I sound cynical at times, and push the notion of how much this industry is mainly on popularity and less on talents.

Chin up…move on…look for the next thing.

Good attidute, there are many occasions to play and I hope most of them the will work out well for you giving opportunity to be creative as much as you like.
