    I usually plug my VCI 380 into one of the spare channels on the house mixer. Some of my friends have DVS setups and bring their own Rane mixer, but only one or two friends actually do this, most just bring their serato/tracktor box and set it up with the house equipment

    I just plug my controller in the spare channel of the house mixer, do a small sound check and be done with it and never touch the house mixer again for my set, unless the DJ that plays ahead of me is not making the blend and I need to transition to my controller on my own. Then I beatmatch to his last song and transition with the house mixers channel faders and EQ.
    I sold my last DJ mixer and no longer have a mixer at home, just my controller(s).

    Pretty much what these guys said. I have an analog mixer at home from before I went midi, but I use it when I need to hook up my mic or a turntable to record into the computer.
