Trap is kind of a mix of dubstep tempos and hip hop style. As for proper dubstep + hip hop, look into grime, the genre is basically UK dudes rapping over dubstep tracks. One act I really like are Foreign Beggars. If you have the know how, definitely look into making your own remixes/mashups. I had a cool Bounty Killer v Flux Pavillion’s Bass Cannon mashup on soundcloud for almost a year but I recently received notice that the reggae vocals are copyrighted. Check out my culture one mix on Soundcloud.com/Dizzle or Mixcloud.com/DizzleTheDj for a short mix with a bunch of hip hop+dubstep stuff

Im a big fan of grime, wouldn’t really say its MC’s rapping over dubstep though, agreed they are both generally at 140 bpm, and have a similar dark sound, but if you look into grime, its quite different and not really what I’m going for.

I want to try and achieve this sort of thing

I think you were warmer suggesting trap, but thank you. Do you have any experience with mashup by mixed in key?

the day and night remix is nice. Think I’m gonna have a pop at some mash ups of my own in ableton. Want more of a old skool hip hop vibe like nas, jay z, and biggie ect.

    thanks though

Haven’t heard a good Nas remix/mashup in a while, one of my favorite all time MCs.
