Upload your tunes anywhere you can. Allow people to download for free.

Make videos and post them on Youtube. Maybe even try to make them look cool/professional.

    That’s a start.

Well, in my humble opinion I think it’s best to start thinking about what you want to achieve with promoting and how to promote after that. I’m no promotion specialist, but if you want to go on stage with your band, the first thing that comes to my mind is to start advertising in the neighborhood. Other things that come to my mind are trying to get some attention in the local newspaper, use social media and post your tracks online on all the sites you can find. If you aim to get signed, I guess if you’re good enough you will get noticed eventually. šŸ™‚

Don’t mess w/ paying for a promotion service! If you research how any band or producer is getting discovered or popular these days you never hear that it was because they used one of these promotional services.

Same as D-Jam said, upload your music anywhere and everywhere. Also let people download it for free… you should be more interested in exposure than profit in the beginning.

If you post REGULARY on for example YouTube you will sooner or later get some specter of audience and later get noticed by some kind of producer, label (smaller or bigger) hopefully nice one (someone who knows his work well).
I think that the key to success is to keep doing what you like CONTINUOUSLY. Let people get in your workflow and that will bring expectations for MORE. If you just do something every now and then than you don’t act professionally so people won’t take you serious.

I just know it by a chance, because a girl from my school succeeded that way as a singer. Now she has quite a little fun with her new producer from Germany. She also brought my schoolmate (he is director) into the busines (he is making music videos for her).

Than you will be able to reach iTunes and other sites where you will eventually sell something (or gig somewhere).

Also check her out (this girl) on YT: julia aljaz

    Hope U succeed šŸ™‚

And…almost forgot: PLEASE, JUST DON’T SPAM! It won’t make you better. Rather spend you time for music than advertisement.
