    have you looked at ableton live intro? Its the more stripped down version and it is currently on sale right now 25% on their website.

    Although I’ve been playing on decks for a long time ( although only digital for a couple of years) and have a pretty deep knowledge of tunes, I’m not musically trained, so starting to fear Ableton Intro may be beyond me…anyone got any thoughts on this?

    If you feel comfortable with garageband, you could save up and make the jump to logic (the workflow will feel very similar). Garageband is watered-down diet logic for the most part.
