KeymasterMixVibes is a decent software but it has its limitations.
VDJ Pro has more features, especially when you dig in the tremendous amount of (mostly free) VST plug-ins that VDJ Pro can run. With those addons there is no software that has more F/X.
Also the mapping features of VDJ Pro are much more advanced than MixVibes, but also more complicated.
The amount of customisation you can do in VDJ is potentially much greater, but also more complicated. So all in all, VDJ Pro is the much bigger and feature rich application and delivers A LOT more.
However: MixVibes is much less complicated, has only 2 decks to worry about and has sort of a nice remix/sample deck layout. Custom mapping is OK but more limited in what you can do.
I have not used it extensively, but it did never crash on me so I suppose it is stable enough for long time DJing. As for price with VDJ Pro you get lifetime free upgrades. I do not know the license model of Cross, as my tests were done with a friends gear and I did not purchase it myself.

ParticipantThanks for that Terry, I suppose I need software that is mappable to the controller I have or if I change to be able to map to that to so that is helpful but mixvibes seems to support my Hercules MP3 E2 and the next controller I may go to next the Numark Mixtrack pro.. VDJ had crashed on me several times and it put me off investing in the full version but mixvibes seems to be more stable and bug free, and at a quarter of the price it should serve its purpose for mashups and remixes.
Maybe for the moment I should invest in Mixvibes, Get my first few gigs in then look for alternatives if I change controllers and equipment?

ParticipantTerry.
Another Question is what about traktor pro 2, would this be a better option? only 330 more than mixvibes and mapping options are available for my hercules mp3 e2.. Bit stuck as VDJ always laggs and crashes so don’t really want to risk buying the full pro version and it die on me at a gig :/

KeymasterIn my experience if VDJ crashes it is not VDJ but something different (drivers, windows registry bugged,…) and chances are any other software will crash just as well…
Traktor is complicated and chances are since version 2.6 that the mappings you find will not work. So you prolly have to map it yourself. If you are prepared to map it yourself, then of course Traktor is very nice and can do a lot, but not the most easy software to get into.February 16, 2013 at 11:59 am #36825Shaun Pearcey
ParticipantOh right will look into that then, as I enjoy the VDJ experience to be the best out of all the dj softwares ive tried. Traktor is very unusual software to me and looks as if it would take a hell of a long time to get into it, so for me I may be better off saving more cash and getting VDJ pro 7.

Participantidk about that…i have mixvibes cross version 2.4.0 and it has 4 deck mixing and it has the same free upgrades, very stable even when u decide to buy the plug in…its still about 100 bucks cheaper and it will not crash but u need to analyze tracks b4 u use it, but u already know that lol basically the same with more or less options

ParticipantMy advice would be just upgrade to VDJ Pro it has lots of features and you should be able to upgrade at a discount since you already have a featured controller,Best regards—-Bryan

ParticipantCheers Bryan, As I eventually went for the Denon MC3000 I got traktor pro it was a very easy decision as its one of those softwares with tons of potential 🙂
