Need help selecting my 1st Digital DJ controller

sounds like the s2 sounds right up your alley. it has the tightest integration with traktor and plays well with other midi controllers. also it is right around your 500$ price point.

+1 for the S2. Seems like the perfect controller for what you want to do and price range. I have it as well and love it. Plus traktor can be integrated with ableton as well so its even more appealing!

S2 it’s what I’m using and I haven’t had any problems with it. Plus you get free software upgrades for a lifetime

Software upgrades? As in Traktor Pro 2.5/.6 etc.. you don’t? I could have sworn you did

In recent history: Upgrades within the same major Version (aka 2.5 -> 2.6) are free for license holders of that major version.
For new major versions (aka going from 1.3 -> 2.0.1) you had to buy a new license.
This is one of the major differences of the business model of NI as the Traktor license is fairly cheap compared to VDJ, but with VDJ you get all upgrades free for live including major versions.
