Its not about the gear…its about what you do with it.

Dont get too Gear Hungry, practice on what you have now and master it….master every little button fader and knob on your gear so you are always using them in some form…THEN when you get to a point where you want to do something else and you have created your own direction as to where you want to go THEN invest in something that you want…going up and buying this and that will often leave pieces of your gear collecting dust.

I really thank you for that incite:) I will learn Ableton more and see where it goes fro there. I know my Denon MC-6000 has tons of features and the Novation Launch Pads do too with Ableton. Thanks Mr Jung 😉

I have to agree with Hee Won Jung!

I did the mistake of buying too much gear (G.A.S. 😉 ) and now i have to force myself to get to know each piece of my gear properly before stepping to the next. My F1 lies waste at the moment, i’m concentrating on my S4 and maschine (and daily beatmatching exercises with my TT 😉 )

Maybe at one day, you learn/practice something on your Denon, the other day on your Launchpad and the third day you could think of doing some tricks with both. This way getting to know your gear gets more varied, less boring. Make yourself a little practice plan to stick to your goals 😉

This is just a suggestion, I do it this way and it works for me – Hope it helps a little 🙂

If you ever think you’ll need some gear, watch this video and then try to get the most out of your existing toys ;)

This kid rocks with just a keyboard and a dj2go =)
