I guess that is simply because most DAWs cater to easier and easier workflow.
I still love Logic, but the latest releases were all catered towards the “newbie” experience with little pro features apart from candy (which we all like hehe).
This of course has good and bad sides, it gets more people with less knowledge about notation and harmony into music (and this is also how their end results sound).
One of the many things why I always tell people: If you want to start music making a little more serious than adding a few loops together, you have to at least have some basic understanding of music itself and hence harmonic music theory. Even if they just learn how basic scales, pitch etc. work and stop there. It will make folks leap ahead in many ways.
