There is no trap if you do not make it one.
Sure if you are famous then you mostly stick to a style, but I have seen really famous guys play an underground banger here and there just to let loose and sometimes even hits came from it.
Likewise I totally admit that while I love underground even hardcore industrial at times, I also like pop here and there.
Take the last set I played in a club, it had in it belearic songs for a chilling start, it had some house to kick it off and then even had some dubstep going to K-Pop and the crowd loved it. I even got compliments for not sticking to one thing for 2 hours as people get bored having 120 bpm with the same feel for hours… of course some crowds demand exactly that, this is where reading the crowd comes in…
