Yes; Jem :);
In my Case it has become an Addiction/Compulsion in the past; but now; like Rob; I spend an Average of £40 per Month; (This is Why I Don’t have a Pension :oops:); however; I do ‘Fill Up My Box’ as it were; from Free Soundcloud Downloads; like today I found a New Remix of a Track that is 20 Years Old; but it is Fabulous; and last night I found a New Remix of a ‘Specials’ Track (from the Ska Days of the Late ’70’s?); and that is Very Interesting too 🙂
Right now, about $15-20 a week. I’ve just started and want to build my library up rather quickly without buying ridiculous amounts of tracks that I will probably never listen to. Once I have a comfortable amount of tracks I’ll be looking at 1-4 tracks a week (so $15 a month).
I’ve got a budget of $50NZD a week (at the moment, this is roughly 40 USD / 25 GBP) – most weeks I spend it quite easily. The funny thing is I still seem to buy tunes as if I’m buying physical media, as in I’ll often pick up the whole release on Juno, unless there’s genuinely only one tune on the package that I like and/or would play.
I get a lot of stuff sent to me which is quite nice, other then this I use a lot of blog sites that suit my style and only really purchase cd’s when I can be botherd too :P, for chart stuff the girlfriend likes buying me random cd’s which is also a nice addition as much as i dont like playing it 😛
I would probably spend around $30/$40 a month but im trying to cut it down. Im starting to find a lot of tunes I have only ever played once and wasted good coin on. Less tunes = more money for new gear.
i would have to say $60 on some months depends from which record pool i subbcribe that month, there is a really good one where i can find the kind of genres i play, and i get a good 40 or more really good songs that i always end up using,yup soundcloud is really awesome too i gotten lots of good stuff on there too!
At the moment I’ve just started and have spent £35 on iTunes in one day.
Looking for a cheaper site, was recommended emusic but there bit rate is all
Over the place, and they download with VBR.
I’ve seen one called legalsounds still looking into this one $9 a song, to good
To be true I think.
Any recommendations?
I use emusic, but I got in early before they changed their pricing structure.
£12 pcm for 50 tunes, bargain! I usually end up taking a chance on a random selection of tunes from a label im familiar with at the end of the month just to use up the credits!
I also drop about £20 per month on Juno or Beatport.
Around 30 € with each purchase in BeatPort, which is either monthly or bimonthly. I try to keep it simple and minimalistic as well as try to keep within a low budget.
