Should I have the Standard laptop stand, or the one with the cooling fans?

I would to with the fanless one, more noise and I doubt you get much better airflow. A tiny bit but not worth with the noise fan levels…

Well in a club setting the fans cannot be heard unless you have a jet turbine there hehe
However my older MacBook is really old by computer standards, I never used external fans on it and it still works like a charm. I only use a standard Crane stand.
Do not forget that if your stand puts it up in the air and does not encluse it too much (like the crane only touches the MacBook in 3 places) then you already got better heat dissipation due to the metal casing not lying flat on something.

No need for one with a fan…with a fan causes more problems like…needing another usb port or another power plug…both of which are usually in short supply in a DJ booth.

No need for fans really. Just as long as the airflow in the laptop is clear like the vents are free from dust and the outlet still allows air out, should be fine.

Besides, stands with fan is less aesthetically not DJ worthy. 🙂

If you get one with fans you have to make sure that the laptop fan is right on top of the stand fan otherwise its pointless and doesnt work as well as a dj stand which keeps the laptop off the ground. just make sure the laptop fan is unobstructed. i ve had both.
