Well back in the day it was painful trying everything for myself and watching videos of the grandmasters to see if I can get what they are doing…

    Nowadays:
We have our controller scratch course coming next year, this will be the first course aimed solely at scratching with controllers. So that is for the people that want to stay fully digital.

Apart from that DJ Angelo has a nice series on youtube (just search for DJ Angelo) explaining turntablism really well in several lessons. He does it using a standard turntable setup, but of course you can translate many things to controllers.

Umm, honestly it all starts with YOU!! I mean you can watch ever video in the world. But if you’re not serious & willing it won’t matter at all. I taught myself I’m from that era(yes I’m that old!!) where internet didn’t exist!! We had to earn our stripes with hard criticism!! That’s the main reason why turntables have lasted so long. My advice also would be ALL youtube DJ videos. Because no DJ scratches the same no matter how long he has been in business. And practice like crazy. Because the same day you incorporate scratching. Will be the same day you’re take seriously!!

Thanks. I already started yesterday looking at some videos and practicing the baby scratch. I’m in no rush but I know i need to keep up the with the practice to see some results.
