ParticipantHave you tried Foobar2000 (http://www.foobar2000.org/download) ? You can also add the BPM analyser plugin foo bpm (http://wiki.hydrogenaudio.org/index.php?title=Foobar2000:Components/Automatic_BPM_Analyser_(foo_bpm)) [Download available on the forum: http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=77142]

ParticipantAs all Digital DJing software integrate with itunes u are pretty much shit out of luck unless you want to organize all your music within your DJing software.
With that said there are other media organizing programs you can use in conjunction with Itunes that can make your life a lot easier.
Mediamonkey is one of my personal favs and that is what i use to edit all my song tags and info etc.before they go into my permanent Itunes library. Once in my itunes library i use all smart playlists to organize all my tracks, and then i will make a standard playlist for a specific set.
If u are using CDJs you can always use rekord box.

I am just not a fan of some of their business practices.
Anyway, thanks Si BooGie, I will look at Beatunes 🙂

InactiveInterested to know what kind of business practices you don’t approve of, like making too much money?

MemberProbably not the place to get into a debate about it. But thanks for all the helpful replies. 🙂

ParticipantThis would actually be the best place to get into a debate over it imo…forum boards are meant for public discussion and voicing each other opinions.
I am also curious as to which business practices you are refering to. Out of all the different Music organization programs…Itunes is one of the best out there…the only ones that i know of that can even compete would be Media Monkey and possibly beatunes, yet since both of these you have to pay for and Itunes is free…it wins hands down.

MemberI’m just not an Apple fan. I haven’t had good experiences with their company or their products and prefer alternatives when possible. If in the end I must have iTunes, then I’ll give in and use that but only as a last resort.

iTunes is free so there’s no cost associated with trying it. If it has bugs, the menu entry has an option to send back comments to Apple.

MemberI went ahead and purchased Beatunes, already have Mixed inKey, so for the time being I’m covered I think.

InactiveIf you are running BeaTunes on latest MacOSX, you need to install the java runtime as Apple no longer ships as default the Java runtime due to security issues (too many hackers are finding holes in the Java runtime today…)
