Anyone who uses music without a license (like most DJs) for mixes should at least as a courtesy to the artist/label/producers list the track info as a playlist. If someone does not do that I don’t listen to the mix, period. Recommend others to do the same. If a DJ is too lazy to make a playlist, then most likely the mix is not that special, either.

I hear what ure saying but for me a mix is about taking people on a journey… what kind of journey am i going to take you on if you know what tunes are coming in?

If you think like that thou then alot of other people do.. so will include if i post a mix.

Most likely a journey I won’t take, out of respect of the artists you use without any respect.

If I know the tracks well enough to know the entire “journey” then you need to dig deeper. Out of respect for the artists all djs should have track lists for posted mixes. And more importantly to my point with this thread, it gives me an idea of whether or not it will fit my musical tastes.

@ Kent Do you supply a playlist to the crowd in a club? If a member post a link to their mix with or without a playlist I’ll listen even if it’s not my normal genre.
To be a helpful forum it’s good to listen to the mixing technique of others good or bad and offer some useful comment.
I don’t have to like the music to be able to appreciate the mix and with so many music recognition apps I really dont need a playlist unless the app can’t tag it and it’s a track I’d like to have. Yes it’s good to see one but it’s not essential. Personally I’m more interested in how they’re mixing, ie manually or with sync enabled. Full tracks or Ableton like samples hits. Can you imagine a playlist of samples?….lol

I’ve rather hear a DjMix wich had a playlist, but that’s my opinion, I’ve remember downloading live sets from top dj’s and finding myself in love with a particular track and not knowing her name…

Other thing I would suggest would be leaving all your personnal information, you never know if someone from the forum it´s preparing a gig near your area, and by listening to your mix may think you’re style would be a good fit to it and may want to book you.
