I have a very basic low-budget Windows laptop that I use for DJ’ing. I also have the Numark Mixtrack Pro and I use Traktor Pro 2.6

I don’t have any problems with this laptop clipping. Have you disabled the network adapter and your virus program? Even with these running, Istill don’t get close to clipping. I eliminate all bloatware.

Here are specs for my very basic laptop:

2.1 Ghz Intel Dual Core with 4 MB of memory running Windows 7.

Has Traktor been approved for Windows 8?

From the sounds of it you are getting buffer under runs…try doing a couple of things: Increase the buffer size to 192 or 256, and increase USB Buffer to 1-2ms…you want to keep your total Latency down to the MAX 10ms.

As well download LatencyMon…and have it running in the background to determine where you are getting the buffer under-runs.

It may be just a matter of downloading the latest drivers for a certain thing

My latency is between 15 (ASIO) and 20(laptop speakers). I need to do some more work I guess. Let me download LatencyMon.

Friend of mine had the problem with an Anti-Virus program, he changed it to the MS security essentials and was fine from that point on. So prolly also check what is running in the background…

Check your laptop’s Windows Power schemes – go into the advanced settings and definitely UNTICK the “switch off USB devices to save power” (or smthing like that) setting.
