DJay for Mac is fine. You have experienced the normal snobbery attitude that is unfortunately present everywhere. Use what you like. Not that Traktor is a mighty good DJ SW system, as well.

Thanx man appreciate it. I figured I would use DJay for now and practice w/Traktor then use out when I’m comfortable. What set up you have?

I have Ableton Live and Traktor. And also a DJay binary somewhere I actually got for free for testing purposes. I used Ableton Live for a long time but got tired of all the pre-processing needed (warping et rest), while using Traktor this is less of an issue.

Yeah, Traktor can kinda be overwhelming at first. It takes months to truly unlock all of its potential or at least understand what all the buttons do. Djay is a great start if you are starting out with a new controller. Equally, Virtual DJ is free and extremely versatile for the cost. I used to have a Mixtrack Pro but I used traktor, the reason being that I used only my macbook and Traktor for about 5 months before I bought a controller. I started out with Djay for iphone and then Virtual DJ for Macbook. Just stick at it and experiment and you will learn what every thing does in Traktor, it has alot of potential for creativity.

Djay is cool and it is fast closing the gap to the competitors, actually only 4 deck support is missing, all the other bells and whistles are there and there are even some features that Traktor doesnt have in there (cloud mixing for one).

Hi there, im experiencing with SWs, Djay was the one that really set me on DDJ, and DJ at all. i find something thats not quite good, both traktor and VDJ have the bar sync advisor, the one that is used to align the beats, but i cant find it on Djay, something that i really find usefull,
Traktor for noobs seem too complicated, but effects and display are far way better than VDJ (LE)
