Sometimes you will hear soft hissing or other noise when no music is played. If the speaker does this while no leads are connected (and preferably without any wireless gear in the vicinity like bluetooth and wifi on tablets and phones), the problem most likely sits within the speakers themselves. And most likely involves the amp or cross-over.

If it only makes the sound when a cable is connected (what cable are you using?), then it can be a host of other things. Even the USB cable can be the culprit. You should, if at all possible, use the XLR outputs and XLR inputs on the speakers to eliminate problem on the speaker cabling.

    Hi,
It only happens when connected to the speakers, Ive also replaced the XLR cables too so I am miffed.

Im using the same cables as my pioneer controller which doesnt have the same issue.

Does it happen when you have the speakers connected to the controller but the controller not connected to anything else?

Good question I will check when the controller is returned to me a few maintenace issues…..

I first noticed the issue when my Numark had Ipad connected through in Aux. As its my fairly new back up syetem hadnt really noticed it before. Ive even tries one of those surpressor type add ons which attached with rca cables but didnt make much differance if any.
