That’s a pretty small box right? What kind of transport do you mean? Soft bag, hard bag, flightcase … ?

Gator has some pretty nice and very sturdy weatherproof boxes for example.

just to take it where I’m having production tuition and BPM next month.

I have a UDG case for my native instruments audio 10.
edit… looks like they dont sell that case anymore.
this is the same type of case:

    similar case would be ideal.

I’d just be putting it in my rucksack.

Frankly, if I am honest, unless you are very worried about scratches and/or a small dent here or there, I’d just toss it in your rucksack. Technically the unit is sturdy enough. It has only a few knobs that are pretty sturdy as well.

Another option is to get a small ABS plastic box with cut-out foam in it. Cut away the silhouette of the 2i2 and put it in.

    Something like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/bhp/case-foam

Yeah … tools of the pro’s. You can toss those in an airplane cargo load and it comes out unharmed.

I did think of just getting some foam, and filling in the space around the 2i2 so it will fit the audio 10 case.
but have it removable so that I can still use it for either soundcard.

I wont need to take both together.

I dont use both at the same time at home.
audio 10 is for DJing and live sets and the 2i2 is for producing due to the better amps and controls for the outputs.

the audio 10 was killing his powered speakers with no way to lower the signal being input to them.
and the headphone output has enough amp to run with an input of around -6db as that is what you produce a track to with gain structure

Sounds like a plan. You can buy the pre-cut foam (like little squares that you just have to pluck out where you want to) anywhere online.

Show us a picture of the finished product and see you at BPM!
