Oh . That’s a pretty blunt answer I hope I haven’t just made a huge mistake ! It’s not new I haven’t paid a lot for it . It was between this and the ddjsr in the end

Well it is old, so expect support to last significantly shorter than in a new model, it has no performance pads, the layout is outdated and cumbersome, the platters while big are not as responsive as in other controllers and some functions of the software cannot be accessed as it was made for a pretty old version of Serato.
Hence it is not a controller I would recommend, even if it is cheap.
With an SR you have at least the basic functions all available and you can always upgrade using an addon like a reloop Neon if you need flip controls etc. which is not good with the S1 since it simply does not have the basics to make that a good choice.
Hence I would not recommend the S1 to anyone currentlym which does not mean it wont work, but you could have significantly more on other platforms.

I’ll be honest I don’t really need much in the way of performance pads etc . I don’t use to many effects etc as I dj old skool hardcore so I try to avoid going effects crazy .

I gave 240 for it which I felt was a good price but I’m questioning that now . All the others for sale

seem to be around 350 quid

Well, you DID ask if WE would still buy one today. And the answer to that is no. That does not mean it will not work out for YOU.

After all, there is absolutely noone out there (or here for that matter) that can tell you what will and will not work for you.

DJ software, gear selection, it’s all highly personal. Your best pick might be my worst nightmare and the other way around.

At the very least you didn’t pay much money for the unit. So, go and get your experience in with it and decide for yourself if this was bonus or bust.

We wish you good luck with your purchase.

Cheers guys I’ll be sure to let you know how I get on . I just don’t think I could’ve got another controller as featured (for me )as this for similar money .

If I hate it I’ll change again lol

Actually not really. (Sorry again, it is my opinion):
If you keep your mixtrack, invest 150 bucks into a reloop Neon, you would have (theoretically) the better setup, sans longer pitch faders of the S1 for the current version of Serato (if you upgrade the Mixtrack to full Serato DJ which was 50% off for a long time now).
