Since you are not going there for the money, you get a month to figure out if you like it and if they like you enough to keep you on, the only risk you seem to run is the ticket. Since you have to eat/drink at home too, that is not a consideration.

Seems to me that -worst case scenario- you will spend the money for a ticket to go on a 1-month trip (vacation?!) where you even get to play at least one live gig.

Unless you are giving up a well-paid daytime job, I’d say it’s a bit of a no-brainer. Go and have yourself and adventure!

As for things not being what they seem, go with modest expectations and deal with reality in an optimistic way. It’s not adversity that makes the man, it’s the way he handles it (true for women too).

Thanks Vintage really appreciate the advice as always, its certainly made things a little clearer for me and what I thought was a bit of a gamble actually sounds like a win-win situation.

I’m hoping in the long run, should I take up the opportunity, experience may open up a few doors in the future.

Yep, never know who you meet when you are spinning on a regular basis. At the very least you’ll receive invitations to play private parties for the people that see you at the venue.

Yeah if you do it for fun more than anything else, then why not. No need to for hard negotiations if it works out for you.
