Does the sound clear up eventually? If it stays bad after that, then it sounds more like a bug than some sort of computer performance issue… but if it goes wonky for a half second then clears up, then it is possible you are having a performance issue.

The Mixxx forums might be better equipped to help you diagnose the problem, especially if it’s a bug.

Mixxx is using very generic sound drivers that are not directly compatible with Macs CoreAudio. Hence you will always get sound latency and weird issues with this kind of freeware.
That is why no pro DJ will use it and they use one of the big DJ software brands, which your controller is compatible with (Serato, Traktor, VDJ, Cross).

Hi there, thanks for your replies!
The sound stays bad after that.
I also asked the question at the Mixxx forum and they suggested to download the newest version.
And yes a pro DJ program might me the greatest option, thanks.

The cheapest option to a “pro” software would be Mixvibes Cross. You can try a full-feature version free for (I think) 2 weeks. After that buying the full version (excluding video, DVS and HID support) for about 49 bucks or so.
