    Well Serato usually detects the Controller automatically and routes the audio accordingly.
    If the speakers you rented worked and the ones you bought do not, I would rather say there is a speaker problem.
    Maybe you used the wrong inputs on the powered speakers or they have a switch to decide which input you are using…

    Thanks. I bought the Mackie Thump 15s, but I do not see any switches to switch inputs into the speakers. I am using the same cables which are from the controller directly into the speakers. I am confused as to why adjusting the mic volume on the Wego is causing a hum from the speakers when they are not plugged into the mic connector on the controller.
    The reason I was thinking it is a laptop issue was because I recently installed El Capitan and though maybe that changed the audio settings for the Wego. I reinstalled Serato and restarted the computer. Also while it recognizes that the Wego is plugged in, it is not showing the audio in and out volume controls.

    Do you get sound out of the headphones plugged into the Wego? That’ll tell you if there’s a problem with the sound card in the controller.

    And do you have anything else you can try plugging into the speakers to test them?

    Try and isolate exactly where the problem is: laptop / controller output / speakers and that’ll make your fault finding easier!

    And you have updated your version of Serato right? I think the newer versions play nicely with El Capitan now, but older versions did NOT. I’m still holding off on the upgrade myself 🙂

    Yeah, Thumps should work straight out of the box.

    I do have a question about connections. How do you go from your RCA master out to the balanced Jack/XLR combo on the Mackies?
