There were/are/might be tools that will allow you to transfer that kind of data over from and to certain DJ software.

Haven’t bothered with it for a while, so not sure what the status is. RekordBuddy is one such software that started as a RekordBox <-> Traktor tool. It’s now in 2.0b (beta). Apparently it does now do Traktor, RekordBox, Serato.

Some DJ software imports databases or exports them. Not sure what VDJ or DJay support.

Side note – just because you got a new computer doesn’t mean you have to redo all your cue points and such in Virtual. You can just transfer that information to the new computer.

Thanks a lot for your replies 🙂
I did some research and apparently something went wrong with the database of VDJ. I copied the whole folder of VDJ into the new computer when I bought it. Actually, I still have the old hard drive disc since I built the computer by myself and I just added the old HDD. But of course, I still had to reinstall the Software (I did on another disc), deleted the old one and well, somehow the copied databases do not have the cue point information in it. And it was weird that I had transfered 2 database files, different in size. Now I have 3 (database, database(1), database(2)). Is that normal? I tried by removing some of these with every combination but none of these had the cue points.. and I did it for like, 150 tracks at least 🙁 Maybe one got deleted by accident…

Anyways, I’ll have a look at Rekordbuddy if its worth a try when it gets released 🙂

VDJ databases are drive specific, so if when moving drives around the letter assigned to it changed it wouldn’t necessarily be recognized. I’d suggest opening a support ticket with Atomix and getting one of their techs to straighten you out, as like I said, there is no reason you need to redo all that work. I’ve moved my setup between computers multiple times now.
